soon to be ex hired a CPA before we split up... what would be the purpose of her doing this? I know (now) that she has been planning to leave me for at least a month.

Ahh, so shes probably been in here and got the "Pre-Plan of attack" brochure from our forum. She is no doubt working on hiding money. I suggest you get your own bank account, start paying down as much debt as you can, close out all credit cards, get all personal stuff out of the house. Pictures, legal/important documents and stash them in a safe place outside the home.

what should i do? I know i have to get a lawyer (appointment scheduled) I think she's hiding money too. is there any thing i can do to find out if she is? hire my own cpa? I will get new bank accounts if my lawyer approve, and am paying all the bills. legal docs are at a safe place.

Don't you guys file taxes together? maybe she is just finding out what her optoins are and how much she is going to lose. That is, if she has more money than you. You know how much you make so how on earth can she hide it? Or, maybe, she won the lottery and doesn't want to let anybody know until the divorce is final.

we did tax together we did the taxes together and filed together. i think this began in early 2010. i make more money.

i have not hidden any. i knew she was slightly unhappy, and has become drastiy passive-agressive... I am basiy a honest person. My only income is documented (heavily documented) and there's no way for me to hide money anyway.
