i know a french couple who both have post-graduate degrees. He has a phD and she has a Masters. He can't find a job in france for the life of him so he works in london. she flips burgers. it is very tough to make it in europe if you don't come from money originally. that sucks! i don't want our country to become like that. we need to converve capitalism, cut down on military investment and take care of our own FOR AWHILE. make things human again in the USA for awhile. when everybody is making some money and not living in the streets, THEN and only then should we go back to the whole republican thing that got us rich. it's a balancing act. always moving. This is why I like Obama. the country needs him right now. *steps down from sopebox*

where, in Paris? most French people do not want to live in Paris. In our region (south), it is very difficult for an educated couple to find decent work + decent work that pays well. example: my job looks good on paper, but the salary is embarrassing.

Isn't that true of most countries? That white collar jobs for the well-educated are found largely in the metropolitan centers? Sounds like your friends made a choice. Though why they'd choose to live apart in different countries rather than together in Paris, I have no idea.

no, but LOL These people are not necessarily friends of mine. She does not speak English and does not want to. She prefers to live near her friends and family and accept a meanial job. He has a great job in London and flies home every weekend. Paris is a dump in many respects. I don't mean to be a character :D
